Fox News host Laura Ingraham says President Trump needs to hammer his economic numbers to potential voters heading into the 2020 presidential election.

“If any other president were doing the things Trump is doing for this economy, for jobs, for workers, taking on China most of the media would be throwing rose petals and parade every time he showed up,” Ingraham said on “The Ingraham Angle” Monday.

NEW FOX NEWS POLL: SANDERS DECLINES SHARPLY, BIDEN AHEAD OF TRUMP

Ingraham believes that “should be the play list for Trump 2020” responding to a multitude of clips talking about the positive numbers.

Trump’s re-election bid officially begins Tuesday in Orlando, Florida.

Ingraham also touted Trump’s work on the border and with Mexico.

“Who else has recognized and responded to the crisis at the border like Trump? Using a threat of tariffs and diplomatic pressure, Trump has gotten Mexico to step up finally on their immigration enforcement,” Ingraham said.

According to a recent Fox News poll, fifty-seven percent of voters feel optimistic about the economy. That’s down from 66 percent who felt that way when President Trump was inaugurated in early 2017, and from 63 percent who were optimistic in February.

Ingraham said that voters should vote to keep “the good times going” despite being unhappy with his tweets.

“The Trump re-election message should be simple, do you want to keep the good times going and make America even stronger? Are you better off than you were in January 2017? Some of you may not like some of Trump’s tweets. But you are going to hate what Democrats will do to the prosperity that his policies have created,” Ingraham said.

A Democrat mayor of a Texas town bordering Mexico slammed the federal government and lawmakers, saying “we are sick and tired of the deaf ears” for failing to protect towns like his from illegal immigration.

Bruno Lozano, the mayor of Del Rio, Texas, made his remarks during a meeting with Republican Sen. John Cornyn’s staffers regarding asylum-seekers and immigration.

GUATEMALAN MIGRANTS VOW TO KEEP TRYING TO REACH US BORDER AFTER MEXICO RAMPS UP PRESSURE

The mayor criticized the government and called for a more active approach in combatting illegal immigration that he says overrun his town, urging lawmakers to actually visit the border towns to see the situation.

“They need to see firsthand what’s going on. They need to understand the frustrations that the commissioners, or that the city council, the school board, the hospital officials are managing [and] having to deal with,” Lozano said.

“We’re frustrated. We’re extremely frustrated,” he continued. “Our priorities on the city council are our streets, are our parks, are the economy, are the drive of the community and the places of worship and the places to have leisure activities. It is not the priority to solve immigration.”

The Democrat added that it’s unfair to ask small towns to handle issues related to asylum seekers and immigration, saying this is where the federal government needs to step up.

“It is not our purview; it is not our jurisdiction. It is your job to ensure that you convey the frustration that I share with you all to ensure that our representatives at the federal level are hearing it,” he said. “It’s falling on deaf ears, and we are tired of it. We are sick and tired of the deaf ears.”

Lozano’s comments follow the news earlier this month that border patrol have seen a “dramatic rise” in the African migrants being detained at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said that since May 30, over 500 people from African countries had been arrested by the agency in Del Rio Sector in Texas.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday night signed legislation granting driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants — shortly after the controversial measure passed the state Senate.

Cuomo’s action came despite throwing supporters a last-minute curveball by asking the state’s top civil attorney, Solicitor General Barbara Underwood, to review the measure for possible safety concerns — threatening to veto it if he didn’t like her assessment.

“You could create a database for the feds to use to actually track down undocumented people,” Cuomo said on WAMC radio. “California passed a law, and they are now in litigation.”

But Underwood’s boss, Attorney General Tish James, later released a statement amid the Monday-night vote arguing that the bill is legally sound.

“The legislation is well-crafted and contains ample protections for those who apply for driver’s licenses. If this bill is enacted and challenged in court, we will vigorously defend it,” she said.

The law takes 180 days to go into effect, meaning the first licenses will be available in December.

Elizabeth Warren is having a media moment.

A whole bunch of them, actually.

From two glowing profiles to pundit praise, the Massachusetts senator is increasingly being touted as the main threat to Joe Biden.

Any presidential candidate who rises in the polls starts getting good press. But there are two underlying reasons behind Warren’s media surge.

One, political reporters want a contest, not a Biden coronation. Simple as that.

Two, many political journalists and commentators are more enamored of Warren’s liberal politics. Biden is simply too moderate for them, too incremental in his approach.

ARNON MISHKIN: DON’T COUNT ELIZABETH WARREN OUT

Remember how most of the prognosticators predicted he would sink like a stone because he was too out of touch with the party’s progressive wing?

Having been embarrassed by Biden’s dominance, they’d love the vindication of seeing him fade — and the wokeness of the Democrats not nominating a white male.

Still, you have to credit Warren on several fronts. After a slow start, she is moving up on the basis of hard work. She is doing it with substance, a wonky, I-have-a-plan-for-that approach. And her success belies the fact that she’s not a natural politician — she first ran for Senate at age 62— or a scintillating speaker.

Even President Trump, who had written off the woman he insists on calling by a denigrating nickname, noted her progress by saying of Kamala Harris, “Pocahontas is cleaning her clock.”

Warren has a long way to go. The new Fox News poll has Biden at 32 percent, Bernie Sanders at 13 percent and Warren at 9 percent.

But in a South Carolina poll, Biden now leads Warren 37 to 17 percent, with Bernie tied for fourth at 9 percent. Most of her gains have been at Sanders’ expense.

Politico weighed in by reporting that Trump’s reelection campaign is “setting its sights on a new target,” Warren, who “threatens to cut into the president’s blue-collar base.”

ANDREW STEIN: JOE BIDEN STANDS FOR NOTHING EXCEPT JOE BIDEN (AND THAT OUGHT TO MAKE DEMS NERVOUS)

Well, the campaign would be guilty of malpractice if it didn’t prepare for Warren as a possible opponent. But to its credit, Politico gets on-the-record quotes from Trump pollster John McLaughlin, who says: “Although our own early published polls and internal polls discounted Elizabeth Warren, her recent momentum in May and June in national and early caucus and primary states into a strong second place to a flat Joe Biden is a cause for our campaign’s attention. Senator Warren’s attacks on President Trump’s policies need to be rebutted.”

The New York Times Magazine posted an amazingly positive profile yesterday, filled with such passages as:

“For her entire career, Warren’s singular focus has been the growing fragility of America’s middle class. She made the unusual choice as a law professor to concentrate relentlessly on data, and the data that alarms her shows corporate profits creeping up over the last 40 years while employees’ share of the pie shrinks …

“As a presidential candidate, Warren has rolled out proposal after proposal to rewrite the rules again, this time on behalf of a majority of American families …

“Her grand overarching ambition is to end America’s second Gilded Age.”

The only notes of skepticism involve how well Warren can sell herself: “She’s still thinking through how she communicates her ideas with voters.” And when author Emily Bazelon asked how she felt running against her friend Bernie: “‘You know, I don’t think of this as competing,’ she responded. It was the least plausible thing she said to me.”

The New Yorker also does the big-picture profile, headlined: “Can Elizabeth Warren Win it All?” The focus: “Her plans to fight outsized wealth.”

Author Sheelah Kolhatkar said on “Morning Joe” that Warren is “slowly plodding away and winning people over,” in part by “ignoring the identity politics, the social justice stuff.”

Axios fans the flames with the headline “Joe Biden has an Elizabeth Warren problem.” She is “well-positioned to undermine Biden, win or lose … Biden’s people are worried about her rise, and feel they caught a break in not having to face her in the first debate.” And: “President Trump has told people he thought he killed her campaign with his ‘Pocahontas’ smear and that he’s surprised by her resurgence.”

It could be that this is a turning point for Warren overtaking Biden, or she could well remain back in the pack. What’s clear is that she’ll get an extra boost from a media establishment that likes her and her politics.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, on Monday told her Instagram followers that the U.S. government is “running concentration camps on our southern border.”

“That is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps,” Ocasio-Cortez said during a live-stream that was viewed by Fox News.

Her office did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment. The freshman representative did, however, retweet a screengrab for the Q&A with a caption that praised her accessibility.

She told her followers she wants to talk to people “who are concerned enough with humanity to say that ‘never again’ means something.”

“The fact that concentrations camps are now an institutionalized practice in the Home of the Free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it,” the freshman Democrat continued.

The New York representative insisted that “we are losing to an authoritarian and fascist presidency.”

“I don’t use those words lightly,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “I don’t use those words to just throw bombs. I use that word because that is what an administration that creates concentration camps is. A presidency that creates concentration camps is fascist and it’s very difficult to say that.”

The Trump administration’s Iran sanctions are hurting the country’s economy and recent events are exposing Tehran’s strategy to deal with the matter, Gen. Jack Keane claimed.

In the time since President Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal and reimposed the sanctions, Iran has been growing increasingly “desperate,” Keane said on “Fox News @ Night

“I think what the Trump administration is doing is fundamentally trying to change Iran’s behavior, not just with nuclear weapons, but their aggressive behavior in the Middle East,” the retired general said.

IRAN RESPONSIBLE FOR ‘BLATANT ASSAULT’ ON OIL TANKERS IN GULF OF OMAN, MIKE POMPEO SAYS

“I think it is working because the sanctions are crippling them. They’ve got obviously a little more desperate here.”

“I think Iran’s strategy here is really to use the international community, Europeans, even Japan, to put pressure on the United States to back off. That is what disrupting the world’s main oil artery in the Middle East is about,” he added, appearing to reference the Iran-linked bombings of oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for what he called a “blatant assault” on the vessels last Thursday.

In a news conference, Pompeo said: “This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.”

He charged Iran was working to disrupt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz and this is a deliberate part of a campaign to escalate tension, adding that the U.S. would defend its forces and interests in the region, although he did not elaborate.

Fox News host Sean Hannity blasted former CIA chief John Brennan Monday saying he pushed the “dirty dossier” authored by Christopher Steele.

“At the very same time, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton’s dirty Russian dossier with Russian lies, misinformation, propaganda was allegedly being pushed by then CIA Director, a guy by the name of John Brennan,” Hannity said on his television show.

TRUMP SAYS HE WOULD ‘WANT TO HEAR’ DIRT ON 2020 RIVALS FROM FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS, SUGGESTS HE WOULDN’T CONTACT FBI

Hannity pointed out that everything he believes Brennan did that influenced the Russia investigation happened under the Obama administration’s watch.

“All of this happened on Obama and sleepy, creepy, crazy uncle Joe’s watch, not Donald Trump’s. Brennan, now a paid official 24/7 Trump hater, on conspiracy TV MSNBC… he should be very worried tonight. He has previously called the president treasonous. But tonight it looks far more likely, far more plausible that in fact, it was Brennan who used his huge power and influence at the Central Intelligence Agency to spread lies, propaganda, misinformation, to influence a presidential election,” Hannity said.

Hannity added, “How deep this goes we won’t find out and it is not just Brennan who needs to be held accountable.”

The Fox News host also made it clear how powerful the nation’s intelligence community is but noted how it was important it is that they are not “weaponized” politically.

“Now, we do entrust what is absolutely, positively — I’m proud of this because we need them. The world’s single most powerful tools of intelligence to protect us against many enemies both foreign and domestic. Those enemies are real,” Hannity said.

“These powerful tools, however, are never to be weaponized against the American people for or political opponents or political campaigns.”

President Donald Trump late Monday announced on Twitter that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will begin the process of “removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the U.S.,” but did not elaborate on what new measures will be taken.

“They will be removed as fast as they come,” Trump said.

Mike Morgan, the director of the agency, did not announce any new initiatives during his stop in Louisville on Sunday, where he spoke about the humanitarian and national security crisis at the border.

ICE did not immediately respond to an email from Fox News for comment.

Earlier this month, Trump announced that the U.S. reached a deal with Mexico that includes plans to return migrants seeking asylum to Mexico, where they will remain until they can be processed.

The Department of Education will investigate the potential bias of a taxpayer-funded college conference which the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill hosted in partnership with Duke University earlier this year, after allegations of anti-Semitism surfaced at the event, according to a letter obtained Monday by Fox News.

Rep. George Holding, a North Carolina Republican, told Fox News in a statement that he had sent a letter to Education Secretary Besty DeVos in April about the March conference entitled “Conflict Over Gaza: People, Politics, and Possibilities.”

Holding claimed the conference featured “severe anti-Israeli bias and explicit anti-Semitism.”

In his letter to DeVos, the congressman said about the conference, “Reportedly, speakers and panelists distorted facts and misrepresented the complex situation in Gaza.” He added: “Examination of the official program reveals that several of the conference’s speakers are actively involved in the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.”

He also alleged that a rapper performed a brazenly anti-Semitic song at the conference.

The event’s organizers did not immediately respond to Fox News’ requests for comment.

The conference used $5,000 in grant money from the Education Department, The Raleigh News & Observer reported.

DeVos wrote to Holding that: “Grantees must use funds to support activities that ‘reflect diverse perspectives and a wide range of vires and generate debate on world regions and international affairs.’”

She added: “I am troubled by the concerns outlined in your letter. In order for the Department to learn more about this matter, I have directed the Office of Postsecondary Education to examine the use of funds under this program to determine if the Consortium violated the terms and conditions of its grant.”

The Education Department did not comment to Fox News.

Holding told Fox News: “I’d like to thank Secretary DeVos for treating this matter with the seriousness and attention it deserves. I hope we can all agree that it is irresponsible and immoral for taxpayer dollars to fund overtly biased advocacy under the guise of constructive academic discourse.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in the position she’s in because of moderate congressional districts flipping from Republican to Democrat, according to former Clinton adviser Richard Goodstein.

The Democrats’ progressive wing, led by lawmakers like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., remained blue but trended “bluer,” Goodstein said Monday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“Democrats are in the majority because of all the districts that went from red to blue. AOC’s district went from blue to bluer. Nancy Pelosi is speaker because of the red-to-blue people. So, if your district was super blue, having AOC In your corner would be cool,” the Clinton adviser claimed.

Ocasio-Cortez said in a weekend interview that several Democrats were frustrated at the House leadership’s reluctance to consider holding impeachment proceedings.

“I believe that there is a very real animus and desire to make sure that we are holding this president to account,” the New York lawmaker told ABC News.

Tucker Carlson called the debate the “war for the soul of the Democratic Party” and asked Goodstein whether there would be any moderate Democrats left.

“The biggest bloc of the House Democrats are the pro-business New Democrats — 101 of them — more than there are progressives, more than the Black Caucus,” he responded.
